Terms and Conditions

These terms tell you who we are, how we sell to you, what happens if something goes wrong, and what your rights are. Please read them before you place an order. By placing an order you agree to them.

1. Who we are

assisi.style is operated by YEM UK LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14349679. Our registered office is 160 Reynard Way, Northampton, NN2 8QY, United Kingdom.

You can reach us at info@assisi.style. We are a small team and we read every message.

2. These terms

These terms apply to every order placed through assisi.style. They do not apply to orders placed through Amazon, Etsy or eBay, which are governed by those marketplaces’ own terms.

We sell to consumers, meaning individuals buying for personal use. If you are buying as a business, some of the rights described below do not apply to you, in particular the cancellation rights in section 7.

We may change these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version published on this page at the moment you placed it.

3. Placing an order

When you place an order you are offering to buy from us. We will send you an order confirmation by email acknowledging that we have received it. That acknowledgement is not acceptance. A contract between us is formed only when we send you an email confirming that your order has been dispatched.

If we cannot accept your order, for example because the item is out of stock, because we have identified a pricing or description error, or because we are unable to deliver to your address, we will contact you and refund any payment in full.

4. Our products

Our products are made from cork fabric and cactus leather. Both are natural materials, so grain, tone and marking vary from piece to piece. No two items are identical, and the item you receive will not match the photographs exactly. This is a characteristic of the material, not a fault.

Product images are as accurate as we can make them, but colours can appear differently on different screens. Dimensions and weights are approximate.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and are the prices in force at the time you order. YEM UK LTD is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on your order and we cannot issue a VAT invoice.

Payment is taken at the point of order through our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card details.

We take care to price correctly, but errors happen. If we discover that an item has been listed at the wrong price, we will contact you before dispatch and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling the order for a full refund. We will not simply charge you the higher amount.

6. Delivery

We dispatch UK orders within 2 working days. UK delivery is free.

We also deliver to Germany, the United States, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Delivery times outside the UK vary by destination and by the carrier’s own schedule, and are longer than UK delivery.

For deliveries outside the United Kingdom, any import duty, customs charge, local sales tax or handling fee is payable by you, not by us. These charges are set by the destination country and are outside our control. If a parcel is refused or returned to us because such charges were not paid, we will refund the price of the goods but not the outbound delivery cost.

Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave us. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.

If delivery is delayed by something outside our control, we will tell you as soon as we can and do what we reasonably can to reduce the delay. If the delay becomes substantial, you may cancel the order and we will refund you in full.

7. Your right to change your mind

If you are a consumer in the UK, you have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. Consumers in the EU, including Germany, have an equivalent right of withdrawal.

We go further than this. Our own policy gives you 30 days from delivery to change your mind. The full conditions are set out in our Refund and Returns Policy.

To cancel, email us at info@assisi.style. You then have 14 days from telling us to send the goods back. You pay the cost of return postage unless the goods are faulty or not as described, in which case we pay it.

We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back, using the same payment method you used to pay. Where you cancel under your statutory right, the refund includes the standard outbound delivery cost you paid, if any.

You may handle the goods as you would in a shop. If you handle them beyond what is needed to check their nature and condition, and their value is reduced as a result, we may deduct that reduction from your refund.

Gift cards and personalised items are not covered by the right to change your mind.

8. If something is wrong with what you bought

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, you have the following rights, and nothing in these terms takes them away.

  • Within 30 days of delivery, you may reject the goods and get a full refund.
  • After 30 days and within six months, you may ask for a repair or replacement. If that fails, you may claim a refund, which may be reduced to reflect the use you have had.
  • After six months, the same rights apply, but you may be asked to show that the fault was present when the goods were delivered.

We pay return postage for faulty or misdescribed goods. Email info@assisi.style and we will tell you how to send the item back.

9. Warranty

Some of our products carry a warranty which can be extended to two years by registering your purchase at assisi.style/activate. The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It does not cover normal wear, accidental damage, or damage caused by misuse or by the natural ageing of cork and cactus leather.

Any warranty we offer is in addition to your legal rights as a consumer and does not replace or limit them.

10. Our liability to you

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods.

Subject to that, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, and we are not responsible for business losses, since we supply our products for domestic and private use.

11. Events outside our control

We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from something outside our reasonable control, including carrier disruption, extreme weather, or failure of public networks.

12. Your account and the website

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.

The content of this website, including text, photographs, logos and product designs, belongs to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce it commercially without our permission.

We may suspend or withdraw the website, or change it, without notice. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.

13. Your personal information

We use your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please email info@assisi.style and tell us what happened. We would much rather put it right ourselves. If we cannot resolve it between us, you may be able to take the matter to your local trading standards service or, if you are in the EU, to your national consumer body.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own country’s courts. If you live outside the United Kingdom, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.

If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful, the remaining terms continue to apply.
